Why I Do
Medicine Differently

I didn’t choose medicine because it was easy. I chose it because it demanded more than just answers. It demanded solutions that genuinely made a difference.

Sad Girl

Growing up, I watched illness weave its way through my family, leaving questions no one seemed to have the answer to. When my sister passed away at just ten years old, I learned firsthand that the body could fail you, and sometimes, so could the medical system.

That’s where
my curiosity started.

Why do some people heal and others don’t? Why do some symptoms never get answered? I didn’t know it at the time, but this started my fascination with where the mind and body intersected – and how this powerful combination could work against us or inform our healing.

Graduation Celebration

I chased those questions through every stage of my career. After studying physics at Berkeley,
I spent several years in management consulting.
I loved solving problems, but medicine kept tapping me on the shoulder. I realized I didn’t just want to solve abstract problems. I wanted to help real people with real pain. So I left consulting, applied to medical school, and never looked back.

When I became a doctor, I thought I’d found the freedom to do medicine my way. But I quickly realized the system was broken. And that system left too many patients frustrated, on a perpetual medical journey with no results. Patients were reduced to a list of symptoms, shuffled from one specialist to another, never truly seen or understood. I observed that what people needed most was a doctor who could treat the physical and mental symptoms and provide the sometimes uncomfortable truth required to take back control of their lives.

Those with eating disorders were the most misunderstood of all.

Their symptoms were labeled as “mental,” and their bodies were treated as collateral damage. I wanted to break that cycle.

My dad once told me, “You can have a big impact on a few people or a small impact on a lot of people.” That quote has always stayed with me, so I chose the first path. I chose to build a practice where each patient is seen as a whole person—mind, body, and story intertwined. I give them the space to speak, and I listen to what’s not being said. I connect the dots others have missed

In my practice, I get to know my patients as people. I create a space where the end is in sight and peace is possible. My work involves authentic patient connection, honesty, and creative solutions to ultimately give patients the autonomy and clarity they deserve.

Thoughtful Woman

My philosophy is simple: Healing requires persistence, clarity, and creativity.

I stay with the hard questions, uncover the real story, and find new ways forward. Because true change only happens when you see the full picture and refuse to give up on it.

When I’m not working with patients, you’ll find me chasing new challenges—literally and figuratively. I’ve been a competitive runner for years, racing with an all-women’s team in San Francisco and clocking a 2:49 marathon and a 17-minute 5K. I’ve played in flute choirs, spent years training my bordoodle, Nolan, in dog agility, and recently started exploring nosework with him. I guess you could say I have a habit of diving deep into whatever sparks my curiosity. Whether it’s medicine, music, movement, or problem-solving, I love pushing boundaries, finding creative solutions, and seeing what’s possible.

What My Patients Say

My Values

Caring hands

Autonomy

I believe in giving patients real clarity and real choices. My role isn’t to dictate care—it’s to equip you with the tools to make informed decisions that align with your values. Your body, your voice, your path.

Mind flow

Creativity

When traditional medicine doesn’t have the answer, I don’t stop there. I draw from a wide range of tools—clinical expertise, functional medicine, and deep pattern recognition—to think critically and creatively about what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Heartbeat line

Connection

Healing requires more than just medical treatment; it requires trust, understanding, and a doctor or physician who sees you fully. I partner with my patients so they feel empowered and in charge of their journey.

Hand heart

Clarity

Clarity is the first powerful step in healing. I help patients uncover root causes and make sense of complex health issues so they can move forward with confidence.

Helping hands

Freedom

You are more than your diagnosis. True healing means you’re no longer ruled by symptoms, fear, or confusion. It means feeling at home in your body again—and having the clarity, tools, and support to live the life you want.
